Sometimes a PDF is the wrong shape for where it needs to go. A form that has to be attached to a support ticket, a page of a contract you want to point at in a chat, a poster you need as an image for a slide — all of those want a picture, not a document.
This page renders each PDF page the way a browser would, using the same engine Firefox ships for its built-in PDF viewer, and saves the result as a JPG. Pick 72 DPI for something that only has to look right on screen, 150 for a good all-round copy, or 300 when the image might be printed. Leave the page box empty to convert the whole document, or type something like 1-3, 8 to get only those pages.
One thing worth knowing before you convert: an image of a page is pixels, so the text stops being text. Nobody can select or search it, which is sometimes exactly the point and sometimes a problem. If you only want fewer pages and still need a document, split the PDF instead.
150 DPI suits almost everything on a screen and keeps files small. Use 300 DPI if the image might be printed or zoomed into, and 72 DPI when you just need a quick preview or a small attachment.
Yes. Type the pages into the Pages box the same way you would for a printer — 1-3, 5, 8- all work. Leaving it empty converts every page in the document.
Because a JPG is a grid of pixels, not a document. The words are still visible, but they are part of the picture. If you need the text to stay selectable, use the PDF splitter to pull out the pages you want and keep them as a PDF.
