This converter needs JavaScript. It runs entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Looking for video or audio? Those live on the video pages. Word, Excel and other documents need a server-side engine, so I don't offer them — CloudConvert handles those.

Private by design

Files are read and written on your device. The page never uploads them, so there is nothing to delete later.

No limits, no watermark

Convert as many files as you like, as often as you like. There is no queue and no daily cap.

Fast and offline-capable

Your browser does the work, so a batch finishes in seconds and keeps working without a connection.

About converting WebP to JPG

Right-click and save an image from almost any modern website and there is a good chance you get a .webp file. Browsers love it, but the rest of your software often does not: older photo viewers, Office apps, print shops, and many upload forms still expect JPG.

This page decodes the WebP and writes a JPG using your browser’s own image engine, which is the same engine that displayed the WebP in the first place. It handles both lossy and lossless WebP, and animated WebP converts as its first frame.

Nothing is uploaded. Drop a folder’s worth of images and take them back as a zip.

Frequently asked questions

Why do websites serve WebP instead of JPG?

WebP files are typically 25 to 35 percent smaller than a JPG of the same quality, which makes pages load faster. That saving is invisible to you as a visitor but matters to the site.

Does this work with animated WebP?

It converts the first frame only, since JPG cannot hold animation. For the full animation you would need a GIF or video format.

Will transparent WebP images lose their transparency?

Yes, transparent areas become white because JPG has no alpha channel. Use the WebP to PNG converter if you need to keep transparency.
