Lower is smaller. 92% looks identical to the original.
This converter needs JavaScript. It runs entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Looking for video or audio? Those live on the video pages. Word, Excel and other documents need a server-side engine, so I don't offer them — CloudConvert handles those.
Files are read and written on your device. The page never uploads them, so there is nothing to delete later.
Convert as many files as you like, as often as you like. There is no queue and no daily cap.
Your browser does the work, so a batch finishes in seconds and keeps working without a connection.

Convert, then download the JPGs individually or as a zip.
AVIF is the newest mainstream image format, built on the AV1 video codec, and it beats even WebP on size. Big sites like Netflix and many news publishers already serve it, which is why saved images increasingly arrive as .avif files that Windows Photos, older editors, and most upload forms refuse.
Your browser can decode AVIF (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari 16 or newer all do), so this page uses that decoder and writes out a JPG. No decoder download is needed and nothing is uploaded.
AVIF images are often HDR or wide-gamut; the JPG is converted to standard sRGB so it looks consistent everywhere.
The format is young. Windows 10 and 11 need the free AV1 Video Extension from the Microsoft Store, and many older apps have no support at all. Converting to JPG side-steps that.
Usually yes, often two or three times larger, because AVIF compresses much harder. The JPG will look the same on screen.
Only the first frame, since JPG holds a single image.
