Set your homepage in Chrome

Three quick settings. The first one is all most people need, and the second makes every new tab open it too.

Open it when Chrome starts

  1. Open the Chrome menu ⋮ in the top-right corner and choose Settings.
    Or paste this into the address bar: chrome://settings/onStartup
  2. Pick On startup, then Open a specific page or set of pages.
  3. Click Add a new page, paste , and click Add.

Do not click Use current pages. That’s this page.

Open your homepage in new tabs Recommended

Chrome has no setting for this, so it takes my free New Tab Launcher extension. Every new tab opens your homepage, and it sets your homepage for you too.

Heads up: it looks a little dated. The Chrome Web Store's rules keep me from updating it right now, but it works just fine.

When Chrome asks Change back to Google?, click Keep it. Change it back turns the extension off.

Add a Home button Optional

  1. In Settings, pick Appearance.
    Or paste this into the address bar: chrome://settings/appearance
  2. Turn on Show home button.
  3. Pick the second option (the empty address box) and paste .
Then ⌘ ⇧ H on a Mac or Alt + Home on Windows opens your homepage in the current tab.
